Web Optimization of Photos: What does optimized for the web mean? Well, people surf the internet using all kinds of monitors with different brightness settings and properties. Most of these monitors are not ideally calibrated so it is important that the photo you upload is adjusted to look good on as many of these monitors as possible. This means setting brightness and color saturation to a level that will best accommodate the majority of systems. Also photos must be sized correctly so they load in a respectable amount of time.
Restoration and Repair Services:
Torn or Missing Portions: Photos torn in two or more pieces can be scanned and blended together. Missing portions can often be digitally recreated, as long as nothing to major is gone. If an important area is mostly of completely missing (like a persons face) we can use a second intact photo to recreate the missing area in the damaged one.
Creases and Folds: These defects and be retouched and blended so they are no longer visible.
Dust, Scratch, Stain, Mold, or Mildew Removal: Minor defects of this type are relatively easy to retouch. They can be removed with a digital filter for the background, and hand retouched in important areas, like on a persons face.
Faded or Discolored Photos: Old pictures which have faded with time, or become unattractively discolored can be restored to their original finish. Sometimes these photos can look better than new.
Photo Enhancement and Correction:
Color and Contrast Correction: This is a very simple and inexpensive fix. Many photos have and unnatural cast or tint due to less than ideal lighting at the time the photo was taken. Digital color correction can remedy this, either in the photo as a whole, just a portion of it. Likewise, many photos have poor contrast and lack "pop" or vividness. A digital contrast adjustment can make a dramatic improvement to photos with a flat dull appearance.
Red-eye Removal: A very common problem, the glowing red eye effect caused by the flash in many compact point-and-shoot cameras. Red-eye is relatively easy to correct with digital editing.
Person or Object Removal: Digital editing can be used to remove distracting objects from the background. Unwanted people can even be edited out of a photo.
Background Swap: The entire background in a picture can be cut out and replaced with a different one. Either a new background can be selected from another photo, or a surreal, digitally generated background can be chosen.
Photo Cropping: One of the easiest changes to do can also create some of the most dramatic improvements. Cropping simply means cutting unnecessary areas out of the photo so the main subject appears larger and more prominent. Cropping is often used together with enlarging.
Enlargements: Small photos made bigger. A wallet sized photo can be enlarged to fit in a photo album. A 5x7 print can be framed as an 8x10. There is always a limit to how much a photo can be enlarged, but general the sharper and better quality the original is, the more it can be enlarged.
Incorrect Exposures Fixed: Over or under exposed photos - those appearing too light or too dark - can be corrected to a more balanced lighting.
Closed eyes opened: Sometimes people blink at just the wrong moment and you end up with a shot of someone with their eyes closed. This situation can ruin a great portrait or group shot. If you provide us with a second picture of the person who has closed their eyes, we can use they eyes from the good photo to fix the closed eye image.
Eyeglass Reflection Removal: Camera flash can cause bright reflections on people eye-glasses. Like closed eyes and red-eye, this can also be fixed digitally.
Sharpness Enhancement: This is one of the best digital effects. Photos that appear soft or slightly out-of-focus, can be dramatically sharpened with digital filters. While digital sharpening cannot miraculously fix badly out-of-focus shots, it can greatly improve those that are slightly soft.
Perspective Correction: Do you have photos of tall buildings of structures that look like they are leaning backwards? This is perspective distortion caused by pointing a camera upward to include something tall. The tall object will seem to be leaning back or falling. This effect can be corrected digitally so that all lines appear straight.
Lens Flare Removal: If you take a photo with the camera lens pointing into direct sunlight you will often see lens flare effects. These are bright spots caused by light reflecting within the lens. Like most other photo defects, they can be edited out.

Colorization of Black and White Photos: Have you ever wanted to add color to a special old B&W photo. We can colorize B&W photos to your specifications. We can also turn a color photo into a black and white one. Another popular option is to have a photo B&W except for a small area in color - like a bouquet of flowers being held by a bride.
Sepia Toning: Overall Tone changed does not have to be limited to black and white. We can change any photo (B&W or color) to any other color. The warm orange sepia tone is the most popular and is often used to create and aged vintage photo look.
